Oct. 6, 2011 - Started with Klamath for 13 rows – use hdc in blo/flo instead of dc. Alternate 3hdc x4, and 2hdc x4 increases per row. Make last stitch in each row a dc. Chain 5 when turning.

Row 14 - Crosshatch Stitch (p. 209) - maintain increases at each end and centre here and throughout

Row 15 to 22 - Diagonal Spike Stitch (p. 211) - reverse for mirror image on second side, and keep texture on RS when working WS rows.

Row 23 – sc, with 2sc x4 increases per row

Row 24 – sc, crunch stitch (sc, tc) 3 times, then 2 sc, then repeat scross, and keep texture on RS when working WS rows.

Rows 25 to 26 - sc, blo and flo (for max. texture on RS)
Row 27 - as Row 24
Row 28 - 29 = same as Rows 25 and 26.
Row 30 - as Row 24
Row 31 - 32 = same as Rows 25 and 26.
Row 33 - hdc, blo, across
Row 34 - hdc, flo, across - until 20 stitches before Right Centre increase. Skip 2 stitches, then do FAN1 (5 dc) in next stitch, skip 2 stitches. 5 hdc in both loops. then do FAN2, 5 hdc in both loops. 2 hdc in next stitch (Right Centre iincrease). Do FAN3 across centre. 2 hdc in next stitch (Left Centre increase). 5 hdc in both loops. then do FAN4, and 5 hdc in both loops. then do FAN5. Finished with hdc, flo, across.
Row 34 - hdc, blo, across

Row 35 - sc, flo, across.
Row 36 - sc, blo, across
Row 37 - sc, flo, across
Row 38 - <del>chain 5, 3-Strand Zigzags (p. 268) across

Oct. 9 - on Row 29. Almost finished skein 3.
Oct. 10 - on Row 35. finished skein 4.
Oct. 30 - have to frog back several rows. The new lace patterns look great on 3rd last and 2nd last borders, but the outside edges grew too much. Centre increases are fine.
Nov. 4 - frogged back 1 whole skein…

Swatching last 3 borders

  • tried <del>3-Strand Zigzags; maybe
  • tried <del>broomstick; no
  • tried mypicot.com pattern 2018 - put dc bobble in middle of 9 sc square - put <del>5 instead of 4 sc in 3 ch sp - make middle sc more textured. <del>maybe a picot?
  • 2nd last border - mypicot.com 0021
  • last border, 3 rows of ripple hdc mesh, {1 hdc, ch2, sk 1 sp} with hdc v-stitch in point sep by ch3. Single crochet around the 3rd row, with ch2 picot on the points. On the last row now!!!

Nov. 10 - finished sewing in the ends. Now to block.
Nov. 11 - wet blocking. I was a bit afraid it was felted when I spun it dry in the washer, but it blocked out big.
