CO 84 sts? I can’t remember but it doesn’t matter
seed stitch for several rows
K1, P1 (7 times), knit until last 7 sts and K1, P1 to end
K1, P1 (7 times), purl until last 7 sts and K1, P1 to end

This gives you a border of seed stitch with stockinette in the center.

I crocheted a ducky and sewed it onto the corner for added character and fun.

I love this yarn. It’s soft to the touch and works up nicely. It sticks a bit on my metal needles but not enough that I would stop working with it. I found this yarn in the Michaels sale bin for $1.99 a skein and couldn’t resist. Everyone who’s seen me working on this blanket has come over to touch it.

I gave the blanket to my friend Shelley at her baby shower. I was a little worried because someone had given her two other crocheted blankets. But, those blankets weren’t made by the gifter. And they were made in plain old acrylic yarn. So when she opened my blanket everyone oohed and awed which I wasn’t expecting. They loved the yarn and one lady asked me what stitch I had used for the border. So that made me feel good. I don’t always get to see people’s reactions to my knitted gifts so it was fun.
