8/12/2013: This is my Go Back To project between other, more time pressing projects. I Love the yarn and am enjoying the pattern.

ABOUT THE YARN: I really love BWC’s products. I had a great time knitting with the yarn. Buffalo does not contain lanolin, but the merino kept my hands from feeling dry. The hand feel is lovely to work with and the finished product, while still blocked, feels great to the touch. I can only imagine this getting softer with time.
In the end I’m left with a tiny amount of the main color, a small amount of C1, and a smallish amount of C2. I’m hoping to make them into a hat with other BWC tidbits.
Like any other dark yarns, this required several baths to make sure that any bleeding had stopped. This wasn’t a concern foe me but should be a heads up to anyone who wants to do the Color Affection in a dark palette.
If the Miskins are bringing BWC to a yarn event near you, stop in and say hello to the buffalo. It is a lovely fiber and they are great people.
ABOUT THE PATTERN: I am glad that I made the shawl and I might make another one in the future. I went a bit off book because I wanted to use up as much of the BWC as possible. It did get the M1L and M1R drilled into my repertoire! I want to work on bringing up multiple colors before starting this again, I really made some of them very tight and had to work out the issue in the blocking.
I do think I will keep this pattern in my back pocket for a future project. It was easy to travel with and great for mindless knitting but still able to elicit “wow” sounds from the crowd ;).
