Picked up this WIP from my Mom’s pile after she died.

It’s the first time I’m knitting in 2020. And I love doing this with her.

Its been a weird journey of grief knitting this blanket until I finally got into stride with it.

It was one of two WIP’s that I found in my Mom’s house when she died. She died suddenly and I hated the idea that these pieces were unfinished.

I started to mark the section she did with her initials and the year she started the piece in the lilac yarn. It’s not a skill I tried before and it came off a little Holly Hobby-esque for me ( and more like a memorial than I meant).

I did mine in the same cream and liked it a lot more - and truly felt my mom grousing until I fixed hers too lol. It is a lot more heirloomish now and much more subtle.

I made a welt on the row where Mom put her work down and I picked it up. Her loss definitely left a scar.

It is nice to get to touch the part of the blanket that she worked on. Juts have to rinse out the two years of working on it and block it. I’ll post a final picture later.
