Cast on 72 stitches with Twisted German Cast On.

Wow, this went FAST!
I’m on the last few rounds of decreases. Did the whole thing on dpns, which gets tricky in the cable sections. So many points!
Looks great. I think I will crochet a black edge on the bottom.

Later that same evening…
Finished the hat, but it’s a teensy bit too short. Will change from crocheting an edge to adding on some grey/black to have some extra to fold up. Still, it turned out well. ETA: The hat was not short because of the pattern, but because of my error.

Next time I make a hat like this (bottom up), I will use a provisional cast on and a better bind off at the bottom edge. Had to pick up stitches b/c I made it too short, and then my bind off was almost too tight.
