Made NB size cause my babies are also small.
CO 50. Followed as written generally. Every 4 ridges (8 rows) did buttonhole. Changed color at row 9 and under arm.
S1,K4,P18,K6,P18,K3

Did only one decrease to shape top and adjusted length using a baby outfit.Bound off.Top was too narrow so I added picked up 6-7 stitches & K 3 rows to the sides (then BO for edge) and picked up 4 stitches on top for straps.
Left straps undone for now until I have baby to try it on.

Also added contrast color to button edge.

It is quite small- maybe go with 60 CO instead.
