This is my first triangle shawl and I knew this soft and colorful yarn would be perfect for this pattern.

I started the pattern several times (misplaced my markers on the first attempt, counted wrong on the second attempt, by the third attempt, I realized I didn’t like the pattern…). So after ripping it out 3 times, the 4th time was a charm.

I didn’t like the way the garter stitch made the beginnings of the shawl look “messy”, so I adapted the pattern to make the innards all stockinette and I’m much happier with how it looks now.

That makes the basic pattern for the second row:
s1, k1, (sm), then purl stitches to end of section, (sm) then k1 in the middle (instead of purl), (sm) then purl the rest of that section, (sm), then k2.
