I made this for my friend Lucy’s dog, Caleb, and he loves it!

Funny story on how this dog sweater got started. So Lucy (my friend from Knittervention) was coordinating a fundraiser, and I decided to donate the first dog sweater I ever made to the auction.

She put the donated sweater on her dog Caleb so she could take a picture of it to post as an auction item, and Caleb loved wearing the sweater and didn’t want to take it off. So after the auction, I decided to make Caleb his own sweater (and it fits him much better than the one he tried on for the auction).

I got this yarn from a fantastic stash buster exchange we did at our Knittervention group a couple of months ago. It was a very small skein, so I made the larger back piece with the Linie (blue multi-color) yarn and then used some other blue stash yarn (Sirdar Snowflake) for the smaller chest piece. I did have just enough of the Linie yarn left over to do the ribbing on the top and bottom of the chest piece to coordinate both pieces.

Measurements for the back piece: CO 38 stitches (10”)
Measurements for the chest piece: CO 28 stitches (8”)
Caleb’s measurements: 14” neck to tail, 19” chest width
