Notes

So this is a pattern I made up myself. It’s a simple 2x2 ribbing for the brim and a 5 stitch pattern for the bulk of the hat.

This is the same pattern I did for my last rainbow chaser hat, just in a larger size to fit an adult.

CO 84 stitches.
K2, P2 ribbing for approximately 1-1/2 to 2”

For last two stitches of ribbing, make 2 extra stitches to end the round with 86 stitches before starting pattern round.

Pattern:
K3, K2tog, YO (repeat all the way around - creates the “chaser pattern”) for about 3-1/2 - 4”.

Decrease (very fast):
-- K2 tog, K1, K2tog, YO* repeat rest of round
-- K2, K2tog, YO * repeat for rest of round (regular pattern minus one stitch)
-- K2tog, K2tog, YO * repeat rest of round
-- K1, K2tog, YO * repeat rest of round
-- K2tog, K2tog until 5 stitches left

Cut yarn and thread through remaining stitches to pull up center stitches, weave in end.

At some point in the decrease (may have been when I did the K2tog, K2tog), I ended up with one extra YO at the end of the round that threw off the count, so I deleted the final YO for the last couple of rounds.
