Modified the plan slightly to use some pretty beads I picked up at Joann. These beads are inexpensive glass beads made by Jewelry Fundamentals “Mother Earth Mix,” sold in a little plastic box.
To attach the beads, I used Coats & Clark Button/Craft thread, 26% Cotton / 74% Polyester. This thread is super-strong compared to regular sewing thread. I hope it doesn’t fall apart when the boys tug at it! :-)
I couldn’t find a Size 7 steel crochet hook, so I used a Size 6. I think I will make another one when I find the correct size hook. I am tempted to use Swarovski crystal beads and make it kinda fancy.
