Want to make a hat to go with the fat-bottom bag.

Started with 4 mm hook - the hat seemed too small. I ripped it to row 6, then switched to 5mm hook. At first it seemed to be perfect, but then the hat became too big…

Sept 5: Almost done. Ended up doing the following:

• started with 4 mm hook (G? or is it US size 6? OR is it the same? I saw charts where G/6 is the same, and yet others where 6 is 4mm and G is 4.25mm. Confusing!!!)
• on row 7 switched to 5mm (H) hook
• on row 16 switched to 4.5mm hook (it’s the size between G and H - 7?)
• on row 19 switched back to G (4mm)

Fits perfectly. Right now it’s about 28 cm long from the center (11”). Probably won’t continue until it’s 29 cm like the pattern suggests - don’t see a point.

Now I have to figure out how to add a little sparkle to make it like the bag that started it all. Ribbon? Surface crochet again? Am not exactly happy about either option since it will make the hat less stretchy.

Sept 7: Finished!!! Applied the same ribbon as on the purse, and the crocheted rose. The rose is detachable - I can always remove it and just have a small ribbon bow.
