I’m making 12 of these for a local Girl Scout troop to donate to children ages 3 to 10 who are going through cancer treatments. So far I’ve finished two gray that I need to weave the ends in. I’m working on a dusty pink one now.
I have to say: I love the pattern but three in a row is a bit much, even with Big Bang Theory distracting me in the background.
UPDATE: I now have two gray, and one dusty pink, and one made with this cool ribbon yarn I’d bought awhile back with no particular use in mind. It is perfect for this project. Now I wish I’d bought more of it as the headband made with it is super cute.
UPDATE: It occurred to me (a bit late, perhaps) that making these as full size when they are going to 3 to 10 year olds is a bit silly. So the remainder I’m sizing down with 101 ch, 20 sc on each side with 60 for the between. :) These look like they’ll fit a child better.
UPDATE:
Running total:
2 gray
1 dusty pink (1 in progress)
1 ribbon yarn
2 beige
1 dark blue
Five more to go including the one in progress. I made a white one and a double yarn but neither turned out like I wanted so they won’t be getting donated.
UPDATE:
I’m DONE! I ended up making 13 of these (six in the smaller size) and also crocheted a bag to deliver them in. :D I hope the kids will like them!
