Wed 14 Nov 2012:
I finished the first re-knit of the sleeve after a day or two but have not kit on this very much since then. I am into the second sleeve now. Here is the recipe that I used:
- Mark centre of armpit edge. Pick up ten stitches to the left of this. Knit round the reserved stitches. Pick up ten more stitches to the centre armhole marker. (78 stitches on the size I am knitting).
- Knit straight until sleeve is long enough (and the same length as any preceding sleeve) - 51 cm in my case.
- Decrease 18 stitches evenly (I use the KnitEvenly iPhone app to work this out) to 60 stitches. (k3, k2tog, (k2, k2tog) x2) x6
- Knit straight (stocking stitch) for two rows.
- Decrease 16 stitches evenly. (k1, k2tog, (k2, k2tog) x3) x4
- Switch to smaller needle and knit sleeve cuff as pattern.
Wed Nov 7 2012:
I finished this a week or two ago but the sleeves as per the pattern are much too skinny and so I have frogged the sleeves and tonight started knitting the first sleeve with fewer decreases - possibly even straight down until the last few rows.
Mon Oct 1 2012:
Frogging and restarting again due to not reading the pattern.
Fri Sep 28 2012:
Frogging and restarting due to some weird knitting error that I took a photo of but I have no idea how in the world I did it let alone how to fix it without frogging and restarting. Luckily I was only about four inches down from the armholes.
Mon Sep 17 2012:
First 25 rows knit in the first sitting. Knitting second largest size on 5.5 mm needles. May end up frogging and restarting a smaller size and/or with 5 mm needles.
