Notes

Most of this yarn is unlabeled stash yarn from my weaving days. The yarns I do know are documented here. I do think my unlabeled ones are thicker, so my gauge is ever-so-slightly different on those sections but I’m not particularly worried about it.

11.30.25
Making UK size 8!

12.2.25
Okay, the blue and yellow and pink slipper is going to be the right slipper!

12.5.25
Finally finished seaming the right foot - it took 6 episodes of little house on the prairie! I’ve only done mattress stitch a handful of times before and the rest of the techniques were brand new but I managed beautifully, if I do say so myself. I definitely think(hope) the second one will go faster now that I understand what I’m doing. Already casted on the second slipper, and I’m treating future Haley by weaving in the ends as I go on this one!

12.9.25
In a truly devastating turn of events, some of this yarn was not feltable. That’s what I get for using unlabeled stash from a time before I fully understood fiber content… I picked up some Cascade 220 at my LYS today to start anew.

It’s just bonus knitting time, right?

I started out holding 2 strands together at my original needle size - waaaaaaay too small. Went all the way up to an 8mm needle - hated the way the 2 strands worked up. Used 3 strands and a 6.5mm needle - much better looking but gauge is still off.

12.10.25
Okay - final verdict: 3 strands of cascade 220 on 6mm needles.

12.15.25
Finished knitting both slippers and seaming one of them while on a trip to Colorado this past weekend! Took me basically the whole 3 hour flight back to seam my first one. My second one only took 2.5 hours, so definitely getting faster. Decided to do the same grey marled yarn for the icord along the top! The end is in sight! (And so is the end of season one of little house on the prairie!)

12.18.25
I did about 30 minutes in the washing machine yesterday and another 15 today! I also did like 5 minutes in the dryer and I think I’m fiiiiiinally happy with the fit. If I make these again I would definitely make a size 7. I also need to do my icord way(!!!) looser - I had to keep pulling on the cuff in order to keep it loose enough fit my foot into it.
