Thew duplicate stitching for the sword hilts/center of blade are not as tidy at all as I would like, next time I think I would use intarsia for the blade center/2 color stranded for the top section and for where the 3 colors overlap then switch to 2 color stranded for the hilt alone.

Knit top down in stockinette knit stitches only until the base

(I would add a row or two of ribbing next time)
K2-4 lt blue with 1 bind off stitch every 6th stitch on row 2 and use a yarnover in row 3 when you reach those stitches (for the drawstring holes)

R10-22 follow the Sword colorwork chart from the #FantasyDoodle Deck by Pacific Yarn Co in grey background, lt blue foreground… I attempted duplicate stitch for the sword hilt and the center of the blade but next time I would use a mix of intarsia for each on the blade then transition to 2 color stranded after you complete the blade.

Now you begin the base… I had my work on 4 double pointed needles with 12 stitches each at this point and for the base I simply started with an ssk at the beginning of each needle and ended with K2tog until I was left with 2 stiches on each needle and k2tog around for that round before weaving my tail thru the remaining 4 stitches to close the hole
