Pic 6 - This is how the hat looked with alternating slips. I really like the look but I couldn’t get the beginning of the round to work.
Pic 7 - I tested my pattern with a little cuff. It seemed to work, but when I went to continue the rounds the alternating slip stitches did not work.

07/01 - Well. I can’t get the alternating slips to work in the round without looking funny at the join. Today I decided to rip back to my seed stitch and start over with even columns.

07/02 - Change of name…. Roman Flair Beret…. eh?

07/04 - My beret is complete! Huzzah!
