I eliminated the centre tail seam by continuing on from the end of the first half by simply working backwards or reversing the directions back to the beginning of the first half.
Wherever it said CO, I bound off and if it said BO I cast on.

Used memory foam bits, from Amazon. I have enough to make 8 more!!
