Cast on from the beginning of colourwork with main needle with the intention of picking up and knitting down with the ribbing.

ADDED ONE MORE CHART REPEAT FROM THE BOTTOM working down.

Decided it was too short, so actually picked up in colour work (there was one round cast on in Col B) and knitted the first 13 rows of chart (one square) bottom down. And then changed to 1 US size down for ribbing. I decreased 6 sts evenly around while knitting one row in ribbing colour. This blocked out beautifully and you can barely notice the knitting direction change.

Added 10 rows of ribbing after the shoulder shaping to the front and back in order to go up a sleeve size and also to create a deeper neck opening. This didn’t work I still have a size 3 sleeve opening.

Cuff
Twelve rows then two set-up rows then bind off.

Couple Mods:

Long sleeves with 4 decreases spread out on the most outer part (one set of decreases in each square motif. By the time I got to the cuffs I still had a balloon sleeve but not as much as the original design. I love it!

Second sleeve mod is a faux seam line, added one purl stitch at the beginning of round (a Zanete Knits technique) so that when I did do decreases it looks nice.
