I swatched the Channel Island CO and didn’t love it, so I decided to use the Chinese Waitress cast-on instead (I use the crochet hook method, much faster and easier.) youtube video cast-on

This yarn is slippery as hell- I just look at the needle and it pulls out of the whole thing. And it is so splitty- the 8 plies want to unply on the needle so cabling without a needle is a challenge.

The cable chart is not the mindless type- it doesn’t repeat so you have to consult the chart every other row.

2/9/19- finished back and starting fronts. I always do two-at-a-time whenever I am working sleeves, sides, socks, etc. so that they will match.

This might not have been the best yarn choice. I forgot that cotton can be much heavier and pull/drape. This sweater was long to begin with and it going to grow. I might need to shorten the sleeves- I think this cast-on will allow me to unravel from the sleeve end- I am NOT re-knitting and re-sewing everything.

Update: I did unravel the sleeve cast-on and shorten them a bit, and bind off again.
