I wanted to make a Lopi sweater for Alex but with elements of a hoodie and a dropped shoulder instead of a round yoke. So I combined a few patterns and used the color charts from another. It was a challenge using six colors because several of them were also Lettlopi doubled! And I did the sleeves two at a time, Magic Loop method, so there were a lot of skeins to juggle. I have never done a steek before and this design required 3!
I ran out of some Lettlopi colors so the sleeve color charts were improvised a bit and don’t match the body. At the moment I am struggling with sewing in the zipper. My seam ripper has gotten a real workout. Not only do I have to be careful not to stretch the sweater as I sew, but I also have to match the stripes of the color pattern on each side. And I sewed the zipper in backwards the first time. The zipper is still a little wonky and the stripes don’t match up very well as you go up the front, but at this point I am done and don’t care. Maybe he’ll wear it unzipped?
