14/8/13 Having started yesterday, I decided to undo this today and re-knit. I’d done the increases as knit into back and front of each stitch, rather than picking up the bar between the stitches, and as a result, I hadn’t got the ‘decorative holes’.

16/8/13 - Just started the “honeycomb” section. Great, because it’s basically a 1 stitch ‘cable’ where you don’t need a cable needle - handy for a project on the go!

I would have liked to use the suggested yarn, however it is not machine washable, so not very practical for my sister with a new baby and 3 other young children. My substitute yarn, the Ricco aran (superwash wool) is lovely. It’s soft, springy and knitting up beautifully.

23/8/13 - Knitting finished - pinning and blocking

25/8/13 - Finished. Unfortunately I think I slightly overstretched the honeycomb on blocking. Still a pleasing result.
