This is my third hue shift afghan (I know, insane) but also my absolute cleanest from the start. The more you make them the better you consistently pick up stitches and really get your flow down. I also started way back in blanket one to use this as my cast on method which I love and now use for basically everything (https://youtu.be/OaJRWuqD_WQ at about minute 4). I use a tiny long-tail for one stitch and use that for the rest of all my cast-ons and that leaves a nice braided edge that is secure and really easy to see and work with when picking up the edge work for the border. AND you don’t waste a ton of yarn using long tail cast on and run out of blue or purple when you’re at the end like I’ve seen quite a few people do. It’s become basically what I use for everything.

On this blanket I also ignore the recommended 20 row border and only did 10 and that made it so much less daunting and much faster to work up and I like the result of it better, the less thick black of it.
