It was difficult to use such a small hook on such a thick black yarn which was used for the sole, but I love the dense result. I can see using this technique for a bag. Using the G hook on the Taupe and Off White Bulky yarn was slow, but not difficult.

These are taking much longer than expected, because I keep having to take a few rows out and redo. I was not counting on one slipper taking all day. I need to go buy more yarn for the second one. I used about .8 of the skien of the main color on the first one.

This is a great pattern and makes a very cute slipper. The designer says she’s taken a year to perfect it and you can really tell. The only change I made was to add an additional row to the top fluffy cuff.

11/19/2010: YEA! They finally got more Taupe Charisma in at Michael’s and now I can finish my other slipper!

12/5/2010: Finished! Worked on the sole earlier in the week and the main part of the slipper yesterday finishing today. The second slipper went SO much faster than the first. Knowing what to expect speeds things up. Now I can wear my 2 slippers instead of walking around in 1… which was just weird.

Only other change I would make would be to make the sole a little longer. I wear a US Women’s 10 and they’re just a little short, which will in no way stop me from wearing them.

12/15/2010: Wearability update: It’s been cold cold cold in NY the past few days and these are super toasty and very comfortable. I’ve been putting them on as soon as I get home every night and wearing them to bed as well. Love em.
