So like someone else said, this works up very large. I ended up starting over after a few rows was way too big and I had done a swatch that seemed correct. The stitch count for the small seems to result in finished dimensions for the third size which I guess is a Large.

I also thought the space between stitches was too big, so instead of 3 DC and 3 Ch, I did 2 DC and 2 Ch.

I’m glad the dimensions of the finished pieces are listed.

Finished this came out a little more narrow, so I’ll use this piece for the back. For the front, I’m making it a little wider.

11/24/2010: finished the crochet, just need to sew it up

12/4/2010: finally sewed it up. Not crazy about it, but not bad to wear on the weekends. Love the yarn to wear, not to work with. Feels like I’m wearing a cozy blanket.

I had made some more adjustments as well. It didn’t seem to help that much anyway - had made the front wider (so now it’s too wide and I had to make a much longer shoulder seam), made the sleeves wider starting at the elbow (which wasn’t bad so the top of the arm was not too tight), sleeves a little longer (so now they’re too long).

I would not recommend this pattern. I wanted to get that “first” clothing item out of the way, but this was a discouraging project helped by the fact that I skipped a square here and there in the most obvious places. On the up side, it is very warm.
