I finished this in time and she come out as cute as the pattern’s picture, so she became a birthday present for a 5 year old girl in my son’s class.

Ug. So because they were out of Vanna’s Choice in Taupe and I used Impeccable, this was rough.

Making the cat was a breeze, it was all done in Impeccable. The clothes were a different story. Because Vanna’s Choice makes tighter stitches than Impeccable, I need to make the equivalence of larger size clothes. In addition, for a few hours I kept reading the first line of the dress instructions wrong and could not figure out what to do.

So to make it a larger size, for the sleeves, I added 3 chains to the length. For the dress, I changed the DC to triples and ended up with 31 or so stitches as opposed to 24 and added 2 or 3 rows. I still needed to add 2-3 rows of SC at the back seam and I closed the dress back with a row of SC. It just so happened that the missing scallop at the bottom of the dress was perfect for the tail to come out of.

For the headband, I added 7 stitches and for the flower combined HDC and DC.

The shoes I made larger by:
adding a row after row 3 of (SC 2, inc) repeat (24)
Round 5 from the pattern I changed to 7, 6, 7
Round 6 from the pattern I changed to 6, 8, 6

Before I redid the shoes, it looked like an adult sized foot trying to squeeze into kids shoes.

I need to go to yarn school.
