3/22/14: modified granny square pattern a little by starting each row with join w SS, CH2 instead of first DC and started in varying corners ending with DC, CH, join to starting CH with SS in top CH

I think I’ll do a heart

Used the heart from Take Another Little Piece of My Heart Square but had to do something else for the white border Needed 6 stitches plus 2 stitches and a ch for the corners. Did the following for the border:
working in BLO
join yarn in right corner with a ss, CH 3
SC, HDC, DC, HTC and DC the next 2 stitches together, HDC, SC, in the next stitch DC CH DC,
HDC, SC, SC, HDC, DC, in next stitch HTC TC CH TC,
HTC, in the next stitch DC HDC, skip the next stitch, in the next stitch HDC DC, HTC, in the next stitch TC CH TC HTC
DC, HDC, SC, SC, HDC, in the same stitch as starting
chain, DC CH connect to starting chain with SS, FO

3/25: after it taking most of the day Sunday to sew up the grannies, the body went quickly
Finished the first arm yesterday, the second arm, 2 legs, and 1 ear today. Just one ear left and then need to sew on the limbs.

3/30: Sewed her together. Stitched x’s at the corners where the granny squares join with the tail after the arms and legs were sewn on. Ewing said teeth were needed so I had to hunt down white felt but finally found it in the last possible place (of course). Brining it to Aunt Dolores now to help cheer her up
