Using up mystery yarns from old sweaters etc

Will I ever knit a project as written?
Knitting in the round as I hate sewing. Following the initial changes by bluesocks by knitting the first 9 knows in beige and adding 2 rows making pre-decrease body taller. This gave me the idea to knit a more life-like shape. After the first decrease row I knitted two instead of one plain stockinette. The second decrease row knitting the same way to give more of a tapering shape.

Will have to reduce the hat size to fir the smaller head!

Decided to try duplicate stitch rather than knit intarsia.
