11/8: My first Sweater! Making this for my niece’s second birthday. So far the pattern seem simple, and this yarn is absolutely delicious!
11/10: I completed the body and have started on the sleeves. I think I may be making some mistake though, because the sleeves are gigantic! I am making the 24-36 month pattern and the sleeves could very well fit me! I double checked that I was indeed knitting the correct number of stitches… maybe I’ll head down to the knitting store to ask for help.
11/11: After a panicked bike ride down to Blazing Needles, I discovered that my sleeves are not too big. They are actually a little under Gage, which is OK for me. So everything is sailing smooth. I have one more sleeve to finish before I attach the body and start on the owls!
11/12: I finished the Owlet all the way up to the short rows, which promptly confused me and than frustrated me. I ripped about 5 rows out because I felt that I had stretched out my stitches. Ill start again tomorrow, and maybe ask the knitting store for help. Here is a great tutorial on how to “Turn and Wrap” and Here is a great video of the stitch in action. However, the video’s directions left me with gaping holes when I attempted to knit over the wraps, but that is probably my own fault.
11/14: Finished!! this video tutorial really helped me figure out how to knit over short rows without leaving a hole! Off to block and find some buttons!
11/24: Finally Finished! I think the worst part of this whole project was sewing on all the beads!
