Cast on #1 for 12castons2026

I’m repurposing yarn for this Lento from a previous top that is being frogged. Initially, the yarn was used for a Petal Party Crop but the variegation in the yarn hid the lacework pattern.

Combining the yarn with the Setasuri is perfection. Followed pattern except for the needle size on the body. I’m using a 9 to make fabric a bit less see-through and have increased stitches at the underarm to give me stitch count for the size 5 for the body.

Did this by doing a K1R, K, K1L on the 5th row at sleeve separation. Knit a row, then follow increase until I had the stitch count for size 5.

Will keep pattern numbers for size 4 for sleeves.

1/28 - Casting off at hem and did a fit test and pooling stripe effect was very noticeable. I didn’t helical knit as I thought the highly speckled yarn wouldn’t need it. Now debating to tink back or continue on as a design element.

Tinked back after finishing sleeves. There’s still some pooling but it’s less stripey as I alternate skeins every row. Cuff on sleeves made with a separate skein that was lighter in color.
