I enjoy switching up crocheting with knitting and this one was the perfect garment to fit in while working on the body of the Petal Party Crop.

The tutorial is for a fingering weight yarn, but Kelly provides the measurements of where you should be for each size, so her patterns are easily customizable to the yarn weight. My modification was to add 2 rows to the sleeve length and do the cuff in similar fashion to the Hexagon Cardigan pattern. I also did not do the buttonholes, preferring it as an open “shrug” cardigan.

I join the squares with a slip stich instead of mattress stitch so it gives an extra layer of texture at the joins.

I’m working down the acrylic stash and I have a tote full of this discontinued Vanna yarn which I bought to make the Ariana Shawl (in my project page) for scholarship fairs or as gifts since it’s machine washable and dryable yarn and a very light and soft DK.
