I couldn’t figure out the instructions for the neck trim, so I did my own thing. I CO 34 stitches with size 3 needle, knit one row, purled one row, then did a picot BO. Worked perfectly!

I got halfway through the first wing & realized it was too big for the body I had made. So I started over with a size 1 needle & CO just 6 stitches. I redid the waddle with the size 1 needle. The beak on the size 3 needle was fine.

I did the comb with the size 1 needle.

I had trouble with the feet instructions too & I ended up using a crochet hook to fashion the toes (doubled yarn, SC for 6 stitches, then crochet back, SC for 5 stitches, crochet back, SC for 5 stitches, crochet back, then sew them together to make 3 toes.)

I thought she needed tail feathers so I made up a piece based on a pattern pic I saw for a bird. I CO 30 stitches with the size 3 needle, did 6 rows of SS, one row of eyelets, then 6 more rows of SS. When I bound off, I K2tog to shorten & thus curve the edge. I sewed the CO & BO edges together to form a fan shape. It may actually look more like a turkey tail, but I like it!

Lots of fiddly bits to make & sew on. I’m not sure I’ll make another.

I lost track of how much green I used, so I just altered the stash amount to reflect what’s left.
