Notes

Redoing the pocket shawl I frogged because of edge hinging. Using same yarns, held double, as before.

CO 46 stitches with size 10.5 needles & did 8 rows of broken rib for border, then Double Andalusian stitch (multiples of 6 + 2 + 2 (selvedge). Claim is that this stitch pattern doesn’t roll in at the edges.

Pattern with slip stitch edge:
1) S1 knit-wise, K, P1
2) S1, K2, P4, K2, P1
3) S1, K, P1
4) S1, P2, P1, K2, P3, P1

I’ve seen other versions of this pattern that have the purl bumps lined up in a symmetrically, but I like this offset pattern better. I really, really like how this pattern looks without these two yarns.

Now that I’ve gotten about 8” done, I can see it wants to curl under a bit. I probably should have done more selvage stitches. 4/20/25 - ripped out again.

One more try - the In Fours blanket.

Since the middle stitches travel diagonally , I hope this means I won’t get border flip. I set aside 6 stitches for the border for each side, CO 48 stitches.

I got 30” from one skein of the I Love This Yarn. When I got to the end of the second skein of yarn, I did 8 garter stitch rows for the bottom border.

I wanted slant pockets, so I CO 3 stitches with size 9 needles, the tan sport weight yarn & the HL yarn. I increased at both ends of right side rows (KFB on the second stitch in from the first & last stitches). I slipped the first stitch of each row & did:

Rows 1-7 - SS
rows 8-10 - K

until I had 46 rows & 49 stitches. On row 47, I changed to size 8 needles & K2tog every 8th & 9th stitches (44 stitches left). I did 8 rows of garter stitch (included end increases starting on row 3) before binding off.

I sewed the pockets on diagonally & made a 12 stitch single crochet chain to loop around the button.

I made tassels with a 3.25” piece of cardboard, wrapped 20 times & used wooden beads with very large holes that I slipped over the top of the tassels.
