CO 84 stitches. I started over because I didn’t like the brim rolling. I did a purl round then began the broken rib with a knit round.

I made this hat to match the owl mitts, but sold them before the hat was even done!

I did 2” of the broken rib, then changed to the dark green yarn & decreased 3 stitches on the first round. Four garter rounds in dark green, then 3” in SS with the fleck yarn (next time I’d do 2.5” instead). Changed to the dark green & again decreased 3 stitches in the first round.

I changed to the sage green yarn & worked the broken rib pattern until I was 7” from the beginning. I did a rapid decrease that I kinda made up as I went along.

Removable yarn pom pom (16 grams!). And a token owl button.
