Notes

Outcome: one of the most gorgeous things I have ever knit. Most of my problems would have been avoided if I had been using the correct length needle from the start.

Important: Cast on and do the first row in a solid instead of jumping right into the colorwork. That made it much easier. Then I grafted with the second row of the last stripe, so it came out even.

12/27. Fiddly and uneven. Not happy. Cast on with judy’s Magic cast on over 2 long circs. Too tricky to join. Tried again with crochet provisional, 2 circs then magic loop. Floats so long! Yarn weights so uneven! Looks lumpy. GRR NOW I FIND my 16” circ. might rip and reboot.

12/28. This has been started and ripped at least three times. I can’t even.

12/31. All is smooth sailing now. Cast on with an ACTUAL 16” needle (a must) and used a crochet-over-the needle type cast on. Read all about yarn dominance - fascinating. Have upped my fair isle game and I am loving this project.

1/29. Done! Blocked it with steam which evened it out a lot. Turns out I probably had enough to do all the stripes.

It’s soft and lovely. I will wear it tomorrow!
