I wanted something reminiscent of a Guernsey/Gansey. The colour is right and the materials, but this thing has a cute pattern without cables all over.

The yarn I chose is Aran weight so i’m knitting it at a larger gauge. Some adjustments will be necessary with regards to the size.

Split sleeves and body!
I miscalculated slightly, and this is going to have a little bigger positive ease than I planned for (around 17-20 cm, instead of 10). But let’s not kid ourselves, this was never going to be a fashion sweater. I’m making this to keep me warm while sailing the Baltic and the North Sea, and also for winter walks. As the top layer of many. A little bigger positive ease will be more than welcome in this scenario. Happy accident as Bob Ross used to say. FAFO - sweater edition?

During the knitting of the body, the caked yarn ran out. So with the new cake I started knitting the sleeves, 2AAT, so that the body won’t weigh me down too much when it’s finished.

Done with the sleeves, only several texture panels to go on the body. there’s hope I’ll finish this before the office xmas party.

Did not finish before xmas party. Just bottom ribbing and bindoff left.

Upon consideration, decided to make the sweater longer. So it will take a little more time.
