Update: added pictures actually taken of the altar; taken by my dear aunt!
Update: I had to add about 20” to the length of the altar cloth bc when we tried it on the altar, it fit BUT we needed a cross to be in the centre of the altar, which made it hang over too much on one side and not enough on the other. It’s all done now and really looks great. Someone else is adding the cloth part to the top and it will be used in two weeks for a major feast. The pastor is also happy, which is great. Hopefully I’ll get pictures from one of my sisters.
So happy it’s finally finished! The emoji should be ecstatically happy, over the moon.
The pictures are before blocking.
I used the extended/British dc throughout. Apart from the fact that it’s what I’m used to, I also find it gives me a more square block with filet. The hook is actually 2.2mm but that wasn’t a choice.
It was extremely hard to do bc I was working from an ancient unclear pattern so I had to guess in some spots. I also had to enlarge the pattern just to be able to make out the blocks, which didn’t help the illegibility. But the hardest part was reading a horizontal pattern vertically. When I first tried to work on this pattern, it was way too tedious to keep track of all the repeats horizontally, so I decided to do it vertically. I had to constantly remind myself to read vertically!! The part I’m happiest about is that I will never make this again!
