Be forewarned, this yarn is definitely more of a size 3 thread than yarn… I’ve started with 3mm hook and will switch to 3.25 after the waist. This yarn is a dream to work with. I’m a horrible picture-taker, but this yarn has a gorgeous sheen and is so soft to work with: I’m having so much fun! Should be working on other things but … I have 4 skeins, and the picture I’ve taken is one skein so I will either have to buy more (the horror!) or mix and match for the skirt. That is doable as I do have so much size 3 thread in my stash!

Started with 107 chain, then did half dcs instead of fsc. Am using my usual extended dc. Sorry, that should read US dcs instead of half dcAlso modified the pattern heavily - the 5 chain loops I’m making as 4 chain loops bc I wanted it less lacy. Also, have never turned the way the pattern says - I always prefer a clearly defined right side, so I make a single crochet to join the increase rows so that I don’t have to turn. Once I got to the body, I make 3ch 2dc as a half a shell, then continue the pattern, and I join with 2dc in the same sc to finish the shell. (If anyone wants help, email me and I’ll walk you through it.)

I did 2dc 2ch 2dc as shells for the skirt for 6 rows, then switched to tr tr. Very quick work up.
