Yarn arrived. I couldn’t wait so I swatched and cast on tonight. After looking over the pattern, I’m not keen on the idea of going down 2mm in needle size. That would mean I’d be knitting worsted weight ribbing on a size 3mm needle.

I’ve already finished the body and started in on the first sleeve. I only went down to a US5 for the ribbing because the 4 with worsted weight yarn was killing my hands.

Also, didn’t use sewn bind off for hem. Bound off in k1, p1 rib with the US8 needle.

All done!

I ended up knitting the sleeves to only 8” before ribbing. Cuffs are still rollable but the length is better for D. At the rate he’s growing I don’t even dream that this will still fit next year, I just want a good fit for this season.

Overall a great pattern, a little vague in some areas but an experienced knitter should have no problems.
