Notes

This is a beautiful pattern. However, in using the yarn called for, I was sent a large skein for the body, and 2 smaller skeins for the sleeves. The body yarn ran out with 2-1/2 to 3” left to knit on the length. When I searched through the sleeve skeins to start knitting the first sleeve, there wasn’t as dark a color to match where the yoke ends and the sleeve begins. You can see on the right arm where the sleeve began as it is lighter. On the left sleeve skein, there wasn’t enough of the darker color to finish the sleeve, so I had to begin incorporating the lighter color I had pulled away. Therefore the stripe effect at arm and wrist. Not knowing what else to do, I used the lighter sleeve yarn I had pulled away to add the deep simple lace border to finish the length. I’ve decided that it’s going to be o.k. because Nina’s mommy can teach her that her striped sleeve is for her left arm! And because the yarn is so soft, she will enjoy wearing this sweater no matter what it looks like. I will forever think of it as “Franken-sweater”.
December 25 2017: Well it turned out fine… she likes it; she really likes it! And it fits.
