I updated Dolly’s look from the original braided pigtails and pinafore. For the curly hair, I garter-stitch knitted the Aurora 8 Merino, wet it thoroughly, patted dry and then let dry overnight. When dry, I frogged it then cut lengths for Dolly’s hair. Using a tapestry needle, I stitched a piece of yarn hair onto her scalp, underneath a single stockinette stitch on her head, pulling the ends up even, then going back under the same scalp stitch again to anchor in place. I repeated this, covering her scalp with some curly and some straight pieces.
