Update 7-18-2012: Did 32 repeats of pattern - measured about 65-66” after EZ sewn bind-off. After a “Soak” bath, this scarf got a gentle blocking to 7” (17.5cms) wide and 89”(222.5cms) long! I now know from experience what everyone has said - the insane growing of bamboo after washing is true; and Woobu is only 40% bamboo! This yarn is fabulous - the dye isn’t drawn in as much by the bamboo as by the wool, so it has a beautiful sheen and shaded-solid look.
7-11-2012: My friend Janet is moving from St. Louis to Washington State for a new job. Therefore, Midwest Moonlight is aptly named (end of her days living in the Midwest). The Woobu is from Blue Moon Fiber Arts which is near the Oregon/Washington border so it welcomes her and brings good karma for her new job and home, and the colorway, Midsummer Night, is when I will give it to her!
Following the lead of a few other Ravelers, I casted on 37 instead of 49, changing to 3 YO instead of 4, and a 6 stitch tilted block instead of 8 stitch.
It is a quick knit - hooray!
