Update 9-16-2010: Machine washed on handwash delicate cycle with Soak and a little vinegar in the rinse to revitalize the wool and silk. It looks great. The new photos show it blocking.
Update 8/21/2010: I’ve completed the knitting of this blanket and I decided to do an I-cord edging with the dark brown espresso color #61. Using The Purl Bee tutorial for contrasting attached I-cord border with same size (US6) dpns. On the sections with their sides to the outside edge, I’m picking up one stitch for each ridge. On the sections with their top or bottom to the outside edge, I’m picking up 3 stitches then skipping a stitch, so 3 for every 4. Hope to be done this weekend. I’ll get this to my cousin before the first snow flies now for sure! Happiness. I love the Silky Wool garter stitch fabric. It is light weight yet warm - the best kind of blanket.
