Notes

I was inspired by the Mission Falls 1824 wool because of the natural-looking colors in their line with names such as natural, stone, oyster, charcoal, raven and putty. I thought they sounded like the sea, so I decided to use these very muted colors, to nice effect, I think. I designed this intarsia lighthouse scene using pictures of the lighthouse found on the Internet. It is the lighthouse near my DIL’s family beach house. I borrowed the composition of the pieces from a lighthouse afghan pattern in “Family Circle Easy Afghans” published in 2003. I did a bit of beadwork for the ocean and the light as well.
