5-22-2013 update: Met my MIL for breakfast - she wore her embelished-by-me-tee. Isn’t she a lovely 89 year old?

5-8-2013: Washed & dried in the machine - ready for Mothers’ Day. Looks like the purple beads lost some of their color; but they are still shiny! Sewed through each bead with thread matching the tee.

Well… I’ve spent the week re-learning to crochet the correct way for a lefty. For 50 years, I’ve crocheted everything from blankets to doilies to my sister’s wedding gown by working upside down and backwards to the pattern. It has worked for me until now. In learning to do this beaded edging, I realized that I needed to change my ways. So I spent several days this week working at changing my bad crochet habits and I finally got it; relearning to tension the thread as well. I won’t be going back. This little tunic/tee top is for my mother-in-law. I still need to sew the edging to the top; made enough edging to carry around the back of the neck too. I really enjoyed this. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.
