I used 1-1/8” plain, black buttons; painted the letters with a Sharpie Paint oil-based opaque paint marker - the paint ran and the marker was difficult (for me) to use. So the letters aren’t “letter perfect”! But I love the overall finished pillow - used the recipient’s bedroom colors - she will love it too, I’m sure.
