Mom’s great grandson Walter calls her “Grandma Grape” instead of Grandma Great :-). He helped her open her birthday presents on the 4th of July as you can see in photo #3.
7-1-13: Finally washed and blocked today - blocked out to a whopping 92” long!
6-11-13: Finished this evening; I thoroughly enjoyed knitting this scarf. Pattern was well-written and easily memorized. Did 82 pattern repeats (each repeat uses 9 beads; used 739 beads Miyuki size 6/0. Yes, that is one extra bead knitted in to make this scarf unique… or it might have been a mistake :)
5-12: Well, disappointingly, I’m not quite finished with my mom’s scarf. Had a couple of away from home events come up that kept me from my knitting. But her birthday is the 4th of July, so I still can give it to her in its entirety soon. I sure do appreciate all the support I got from all of my Ravelry friends - you really helped me work very hard to finish!
5-8: This yarn is absolutely to die for. I’ve never worked with a more beautiful yarn in my life. Can’t begin to describe how soft it is to the touch. The mohair component is a beautiful light cloud of what has got to be the best kid mohair on the planet surrounding the soft silk fabric with the lightest touch imaginable.
Don’t know if I can finish by Mother’s Day the 12th. Will try though :)
