Notes

First of all, this is beautiful, soft yarn. As for this pattern, I love how the deep, cabled edge is added as a border. Making it flouncy using short row wedges is clever (very nice, Joji!). I’m using the 4th unique way to wrap short rows (the bobby pin method with its variation) shown by Eunny Jang on Knitting Daily. It results in a very smooth fabric - you can’t even tell there is a wrap & turn! (Not unless you block severely, that is.) That’s because there isn’t actually a wrap - it is such a great trick! I love this method, and plan to keep a few bobby pins in my knitting tool box from now on.
Each 16 row cable repeat with its 6 row “short row” wedge is taking me about 45 minutes to complete.
12-12-12: I can see what a great advantage blocking wires would have been for the bottom edge of this shawl. Wish I had some curved ones.
