Notes

Learn from my mistakes: Use a colour catcher when washing any wool/cotton blend and lay garment flat (completely flat) to dry. My sleeves hung down to dry and were, admittedly wetter than usual, the colour ran down the sleeves.

  • Holding Coast double
  • My stitch gauge is off, so I’m following the numbers for large to make a medium
  • I was vain about how lovely my shoulder pick-ups looked, and then realised I picked up 36 stitches on one side and 35 on the other. Great, kid. Don’t get cocky. I’m not going back.
  • I added a purl faux seam to hide the colour jogs in the stripes.
  • Put the body on hold after my sixth colour to finish the neckline and make the sleeves, and then decide if I’m adding a seventh colour.
  • My pick up ratio for the sleeves was 5 sts for 7 rows, to account for my gauge.
  • I didn’t want to end on the ecru (especially for the sleeves) so I added the seventh colour to end the piece. Also to account for my gorilla-length arms.
