I’ve been eyeing these socks for quite some time. I finally found the perfect yarn and color combination, a great ocean-like palette for a Japanese wave-like pattern.
8/10 - I’m knitting this toe-up (thanks to fluffspangle’s mods), two at a time. I’ve already knitted and frogged once after knitting up to the heel turn and not liking my progress. After some searching, I’ve decided to apply the pattern and mods to Cookie A’s Baudelaire since it’s toe-up. I probably shouldn’t have done so much pattern editing for my second pair of socks, but I’ve learned so much about gussets and heel turns it’s been worth it.
One thing I’ve deviated from was knitting the toes to 36 stitches per side before starting Chart B. It’s more insurance my feet will fit.
8/18 - Finally arrived at the heel turn, lets hope my math is correct.
8/20 - I’ve fallen into a conundrum. After finishing the heel flap in 1x1 ribbing, I was all set to start the leg chart until I realized the ribbing doesn’t match up with the chart because of the k2togs. Not sure what to do because I’m starting at row 9/10 of the chart. The other worry is whether the legs will be a decent length or not because I’ve got about 40g left.
9/3 - Finished. Did 2 chart repeats before ribbing for 1” and did a JSSBO. It’s a little difficult to pull over my heel but they fit perfectly otherwise.
