UPDATE 28 March 2020: I’ve completely redone the pattern, with high-res charts. Available here!

UPDATE 11 March 2020: there has been a lot of interest and requests for copies of this pattern, so I just want to clarify that the two photos included here are all there is to the original pattern (yes, only two pages!). I am currently working on making more easily readable versions of the charts and will make the pattern available as a more easy to follow pdf, with larger charts and more clear instruction, hopefully soon.

Knitted in one flat piece, with increases for the arms (see the charts) and seams along the sides and underarms (mattress stitch). Mostly intarsia; new strand of yarn for every section of black/white/yellow. Some stranded colourwork around the neck/mane. Note that this requires colourwork on the wrong side since it’s knitted flat. Seamed with mattress stitch.

Note that the yarn specified in the pattern no longer seems to exist. The Lana Grossa Cotone is nice but pilled quite badly; however, this probably would have happened with any yarn since there are so many ends and a lot of wrapping strands around each other while making it. I used a fabric shaver with very good results. It’s been washed a few times and holds up well. The amounts of yarn are very approximate, based on how much I bought and how many balls are left over, but I used A LOT less of the yellow than specified in the pattern; if the info I can find on the yarn originally specified, Lane Borgosesia Golfo, is accurate, the pattern wants 16 balls which is 1500 m of just the yellow colour. I used more like half that amount. The total weight of the jumper is 475 g, so 9.5 50 g balls total.
